Automated Monthly SLA & PDF Reports

Schedule automated monthly SLA uptime executive summaries, export client-ready PDFs, and prove maintenance retainer ROI.

Proving infrastructure reliability and uptime SLA fulfillment to clients is often a tedious manual task at the end of each month. SteadyStack automates the entire reporting lifecycle with Executive SLA Reports.

Every month on the 1st at 00:00 UTC, SteadyStack aggregates all quorum-verified synthetic telemetry, calculates SLA adherence down to four decimal places (e.g. 99.9850%), and generates publication-grade PDF and HTML reports.

What Is Included in an SLA Report

An Executive SLA Report contains:

  1. Executive Scorecard: Overall portfolio uptime percentage, total synthetic probes executed, and SLA compliance status (Met / Breached).
  2. Per-Monitor Performance Matrix: Detailed breakdown of 24/7 uptime, 30-day response time percentiles ($p{50}$, $p{90}$, $p_{99}$), and operational status.
  3. Verified Incident Log: Timestamped record of verified downtime events, duration, consensus votes across edge regions, and root cause error codes (e.g., HTTP 502 Bad Gateway, TCP Connection Refused).
  4. Scheduled Maintenance Ledger: Documented maintenance windows excluded from SLA penalty calculations.
  5. Agency Branding & Notes: Custom agency letterhead, executive commentary from your engineering team, and custom contact links.

1. Configuring Automated Schedules

To set up recurring email delivery for a client:

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Reports → Scheduled Deliveries.
  2. Click Add Scheduled Report.
  3. Select the client tag filter (e.g., client:nike-retail).
  4. Enter recipient client stakeholder email addresses (comma separated).
  5. Specify the target SLA commitment (e.g. 99.9% or 99.99%).
  6. Set the delivery day and timezone (defaults to 1st of month at 08:00 client local time).

2. On-Demand Report Generation

You can generate custom ad-hoc reports for any date range:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Reports → Generate Report.
  2. Select your date range (e.g. Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last Quarter, or Custom Range).
  3. Choose the target monitors or filter by tag namespace.
  4. Click Preview Report to inspect the live interactive HTML layout.
  5. Click Download PDF to export a vector-quality PDF document for client presentations or RFP audits.

3. SLA Mathematical Formula

SteadyStack calculates SLA percentage using verified quorum downtime minutes against total elapsed period minutes:

$$\text{Uptime \%} = \left( 1 - \frac{\text{Verified Downtime Minutes} - \text{Approved Maintenance Minutes}}{\text{Total Period Minutes}} \right) \times 100$$

Note
Transient single-probe anomalies that failed to achieve 4-of-7 regional quorum consensus are classified as localized network noise and are never counted as downtime against your SLA percentage.
